Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma, a type of cancer arising from plasma cells that are normally found in the bone marrow. We understand its complexities and the impact living with a diagnosis of myeloma can have on patients, families and carers.
At Myeloma UK patients come first in everything we do. We’re dedicated to helping myeloma patients live longer and with the best possible quality of life.
Our work is both targeted and strategic, ensuring patients and families are fully supported with information, advice and emotional support to help them cope with everything a myeloma diagnosis brings, while at the same time working closely with healthcare professionals to improve early diagnosis and with policy-makers to ensure patients have access to the right treatment when they need it.
The research we fund is key to understanding myeloma better, how it develops and knowing which treatments work best for different patients. Our ultimate goal is to find a cure for myeloma and we won’t stop until we do.
We receive no core Government funding and rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising to continue our vital work. By dedicating a star this Christmas and helping light up our sky, you are not just helping us support myeloma patients and their families but you are helping us get closer to our goal of making myeloma history.
